Your license

Everything about the key that unlocks Tidy Day: where it is, how to activate it and how to move it to a new Mac.

Where to find your key

After you pay, Polar, which handles payments for Tidy Day, emails you a receipt with a link to your purchase. Your download and your license key are there, in Polar's customer portal. Sign in with the email address you paid with; there's no password to remember.

Activating Tidy Day

  1. Download Tidy Day, open the disk image and drag Tidy Day into Applications.
  2. Open Tidy Day. The black island appears at the top of your screen.
  3. Move the pointer onto the island, or press ⌃⌥D. The panel opens on "Activate Tidy Day".
  4. Paste your key and click Activate.

Activation needs an internet connection once on each Mac. Tidy Day sends Polar your key and your Mac's name, so you can tell your Macs apart in your Polar account. After that it works offline, and your tasks never leave your Mac. See the privacy policy for details.

Moving to another Mac

Your license works on as many Macs as you bought it for. To move it:

  1. On the old Mac, open Tidy Day's Settings › General and click Deactivate This Mac.
  2. On the new Mac, activate Tidy Day with the same key.

Your tasks stay where they are: they're stored only on the Mac you made them on. If the old Mac is gone and you couldn't deactivate it, write to me and I'll free the activation.

If activation doesn't work

  • "That key wasn't found": copy the key again from the email, without spaces before or after it.
  • "Already active on all the Macs it covers": deactivate it on a Mac you no longer use, or write to me.
  • "Couldn't reach the license server": check your internet connection and try again.

Lost your key?

Search your email for the receipt from Polar, or open Polar's customer portal and sign in with the email address you paid with. If that doesn't help, write to hello@tidy.day from the same address and I'll send it to you.
